What's built, what's in progress, what's next

Done

  • Real-time sensor monitoring: temperatures, RPM, voltage and power, with live charts and 1H / 24H / 7D history
  • FanPilot fan control: drag-and-drop curve editor, profiles, hysteresis, a safety override at the critical temperature, an autonomous background loop, and auto-recovery when a server goes offline
  • Power management: On / Soft / Hard / Reset / Cycle, plus energy and cost tracking (€/kWh)
  • System Event Log (SEL): severity filters, search, CSV/JSON export, and critical-event toasts with opt-in browser notifications
  • Hardware inventory (FRU): serials, part numbers, and board/chassis data
  • Multi-server dashboard: manage many BMCs with color-coded per-server widgets and quick context switching
  • 12-language UI: auto-detected, switchable, persisted, with a flag picker
  • Security hardening: AES-256 encrypted credentials (separate key file), bcrypt logins, signed sessions, brute-force lockout, optional HTTPS, and WebSocket auth
  • Configurable authentication: enable or skip it at setup, and toggle it later
  • Mobile-responsive redesign: hamburger nav, larger touch targets, card-list tables, and bottom sheets
  • Backup / restore plus CSV export
  • Onboarding tour, keyboard shortcuts, and a backend test suite
  • Interactive branded console: banner plus control menu

In progress

  • Closed-loop fan-control safety: making the control loop fail-safe: detecting rejected or unconfirmed BMC writes and guarding against garbage sensor values
  • Broader vendor support: Dell fully supported and tested; Supermicro experimental

Planned

  • HPE iLO, Lenovo XCC and IBM IMM support: vendor breadth with enroll-time capability preflight
  • Controller-health panel plus server-side push alerts (ntfy / Gotify / webhook)
  • Home Assistant integration and a Prometheus /metrics endpoint
  • Pinned multi-arch Docker images, an Unraid template, and in-band (host) mode
  • Advanced fan control: multi-sensor curves, Dell PCIe cooling toggle, and Redfish fallback
  • Publish on PyPI (pip install ipmideck) plus selfh.st / awesome-selfhosted listings
  • Cloud Edition (future)
